What we do 💜
Every child is unique. Our paediatric occupational therapy services are tailored to your child’s individual strengths, challenges and goals — always delivered through play and always in partnership with you.
Sensory Processing
Does your child cover their ears at the supermarket? Refuse certain foods because of texture? Crash into everything for fun, or melt down when their socks feel “wrong”? These could be signs of sensory processing differences — and OT can help.
We help children’s brains learn to organise and interpret sensory information more effectively. Through movement-based play and sensory activities, we build tolerance, self-regulation and comfort in their own bodies.
📌 Signs your child may benefit:
- Extreme sensitivity to sounds, light, touch, smell or taste
- Seeks out intense sensory experiences (crashing, spinning, climbing constantly)
- Upset by clothing tags, sock seams or certain fabrics
- Overwhelmed in busy environments like shopping centres or school
- Picky eating linked to food textures or temperatures
- Difficulty settling, transitioning or calming down
Fine Motor & Handwriting
Writing, drawing, using scissors, doing up buttons, holding a fork — these all rely on the small muscles of the hands and fingers. When fine motor skills are delayed or different, everyday tasks and schoolwork can feel frustrating and exhausting.
We build hand strength, coordination, pencil control and dexterity through creative, fun activities — so children gain skills and confidence without even realising they’re working hard.
📌 Signs your child may benefit:
- Awkward pencil grip or avoidance of drawing and colouring
- Messy or illegible handwriting for their age
- Difficulty using scissors, cutlery or doing up buttons and zips
- Tires quickly when writing or doing craft activities
- Trouble with puzzles, building blocks or small manipulatives
- Falling behind peers in written schoolwork
Self-Care & Daily Living
Getting dressed, brushing teeth, packing a bag, eating independently — these are the building blocks of childhood confidence. When children struggle with self-care, mornings become battles and both children and parents feel drained.
We help children develop the physical skills, sequencing and confidence to master daily routines — one step at a time. We also work with families to create helpful strategies and environments at home.
📌 Signs your child may benefit:
- Significant difficulty dressing or undressing for their age
- Struggles with toileting routines or toilet training
- Needs a lot of help at mealtimes (utensils, sitting, eating variety)
- Difficulty with grooming tasks like teeth brushing or hair washing
- Can’t follow multi-step routines without constant reminders
- Distress around hygiene or self-care tasks
Social & Emotional Regulation
Every child experiences big emotions. But some children find it particularly hard to manage their feelings, read social cues or connect with peers. This can affect friendships, classroom behaviour and family life at home.
We help children build their emotional vocabulary, develop coping strategies, understand social rules and strengthen the self-regulation skills they need to thrive at home, at school and in the community.
📌 Signs your child may benefit:
- Frequent, intense meltdowns that are hard to recover from
- Difficulty reading social cues or understanding others’ feelings
- Struggles to make or keep friendships
- Anxiety in new situations or around unfamiliar people
- Difficulty with losing, turn-taking or unexpected changes
- Impulsive behaviour or difficulty waiting
